Data Scientist - Database Analyst/Programmer II

Larne, Northern Ireland (On-Site)

Location: Larne (On-site)
Contract: 12 months (Inside IR35)
Hours: 37.5 hours/week (Flexible start/finish - typically 8:00am-4:00pm)

We're currently looking for a talented Data Scientist / Database Analyst Programmer to join a leading engineering organisation based in Larne, Northern Ireland.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on role focused on data engineering, analytics, and automation, supporting key initiatives within a complex engineering environment. You'll play a vital part in building data pipelines, delivering analytical insights, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Snowflake
Cleanse, transform, and validate large datasets to ensure data accuracy and integrity
Manage scheduled data loads and perform ongoing data quality checks
Support and contribute to data governance, standards, and documentation
Deliver high-quality, curated datasets for reporting and business analysis
Support development of KPIs, dashboards, and analytical models
Troubleshoot and resolve data, integration, and reporting issues
Build and optimise solutions using Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate
Integrate and manage CRM data (including Salesforce) to support business processes
Identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities across workflows.

Required Skills & Experience

3-5+ years' experience in data science, analytics, data engineering, or automation roles
Strong proficiency in Python
Hands-on experience with SQL and Snowflake
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
Experience working with CRM data (Salesforce preferred)
Solid understanding of data modelling, analytics, and data quality principles
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (preferred)

Preferred / Bonus Skills

Exposure to machine learning or advanced analytics
Experience with cloud data platforms
