Description
We are hiring a part-time Senior Management Accountant to join our finance team in Harrogate.
You will own adviser management accounts, support month-end, and provide guidance to junior team members. The role combines hands-on delivery with oversight, working closely with advisers and internal stakeholders to produce clear, reliable financial reporting.
What you'll do
Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts for adviser businesses
Post accruals, prepayments, and journals, and complete balance sheet reconciliations
Support month-end close and meet reporting deadlines
Respond to adviser queries in a timely, professional manner
Explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Support advisers in understanding their financial performance
Review and process departmental documentation, including dividend paperwork
Support company secretarial activity where required
Maintain accurate, well-documented financial records
Guide and support junior team members
Review work and share best practice
Provide cover across the team during periods of leave
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), or equivalent experience
Experience preparing management accounts and supporting month-end processes
Sound understanding of core accounting principles
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Clear communicator, able to explain financial information simply
Confident using accounting systems and Excel
Organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities
Collaborative and supportive
Willing to mentor others and contribute to team development
