We’re recruiting Skilled Butchers/Butchery Operatives to join established, high-quality meat processing and foodservice operations across North London, supplying premium products to retail, hospitality and wholesale clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced butchers looking for stable, long-term work in a fast-paced, professional environment where skill, consistency and performance are valued.

What’s on offer

Starting hourly rate from £14.00, with increases based on experience, skill level, output, and competency
Opportunity to earn £29k–£40k+ depending on hours worked (40–55 hours per week)

What you’ll be doing as Skilled Butcher/Butchery Operative
These roles sit within modern butchery and production environments, combining traditional craft skills with structured, high-volume operations. Ideal for candidates with backgrounds in wholesale, food production, or processing environments looking to develop further. Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out boning, trimming, portioning, and cutting of beef, pork, lamb and poultry (chicken)
Working to production targets for yield, quality, and throughput
Maintaining high standards of knife work accuracy and efficiency
Following food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures
Operating safely within a chilled production environment
Working as part of a team to deliver consistent product standards
What we’re looking for in a Skilled Butcher/Butchery Operative

Proven experience in butchery or meat processing
Strong knife skills, including boning and trimming
Carcass breakdown experience highly desirable across beef, lamb, pork, and poultry
Understanding of yield, cutting specifications, and product quality
Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
Reliable, consistent, and able to work as part of a team
Comfortable working in chilled conditions
Full right to work in the UK required (no sponsorship available)
