We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a company based in Ipswich who are looking for a Desktop Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for applying technical expertise, industry knowledge and commercial opinion to assess vehicle damage.

Key Duties:

* Assess vehicle damage via images, estimates and reports.

* Ensure accurate repair outcomes in line with manufacture guidelines.

* Negotiate repair costs and settlements with stakeholders.

* Assess vehicle damage using images, engineer reports, and repair estimates

* Resolve repair viability or total loss outcomes using technical and engineering judgement

* Recognise appropriate repair methods in line with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards

* Review repair estimates and challenged excessive or unnecessary costs.

* Negotiate repair costs and claim settlements with repairers, engineers, and other stakeholders.

Previous Skills & Experience:

* Strong understanding of vehicle repair methods and damage assessment procedures.

* Experienced in using industry estimating systems.

* Strong commercial awareness with a focus on cost control.

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

* Strong numeracy, analytical, and reporting capabilities
