The last couple of years has seen Linaker grow exponentially and 2026 promises to be no different. As a result of recent growth and new contracts being mobilised, we are now looking for a Fire Alarm Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.

Overview

A skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Service Engineer is required to join our growing team, supporting clients across London. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in fire alarm systems, excellent problem‑solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and fault‑finding on fire alarm systems across a range of commercial sites.

Diagnose and repair system faults efficiently to minimise downtime for clients.

Work confidently on Kentec, C‑Tec, and Advanced fire alarm panels.

Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire extinguishers in line with relevant standards.

Complete detailed service reports and ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant.

Provide technical support and advice to customers on system performance and improvements.

Ensure all work complies with current fire safety regulations and company procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer.

Knowledge of BS 5839 and other relevant fire safety standards.

Strong working knowledge of Kentec, C‑Tec, and Advanced fire alarm panels.

Ability to diagnose and rectify faults independently.

Experience servicing and maintaining fire extinguishers.

Full UK driving licence.

Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach.

Desirable Skills

Experience with security systems (intruder alarms, CCTV, access control), though not essential.

FIA training or equivalent industry qualifications.

Personal Attributes

Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently.

Professional, reliable, and committed to high‑quality workmanship.

Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.

Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.
