Assistant Structural Engineer - Hertfordshire (Hybrid Working Available)

A well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking an Assistant Structural Engineer with around 2 years experience to join its growing team in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer with some consultancy experience to develop their technical skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Opportunity
You will be joining a dynamic structural engineering team delivering projects across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, energy, and R&D. Working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you will gain exposure to both new build and refurbishment projects, supporting your progression towards Chartership.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out structural design and analysis in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
Use industry software such as Tekla and TEDDS
Collaborate with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams
Support project coordination, planning, and reporting
Attend meetings and liaise with stakeholders
Conduct site visits and ensure compliance with design and safety standards
Contribute to innovative design solutions and problem-solvingAbout You

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent)
Ideally 2+ years' experience within a structural consultancy
Experience designing in common building materials
Understanding of geotechnics and foundation design
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Proactive, self-motivated, and keen to develop professionally
Working towards Chartership (IStructE or ICE)What's on Offer
