Repairs Officer
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
We are recruiting for a Repairs Officer to support the delivery of high-quality housing repairs and maintenance services. The successful candidate will oversee repairs programmes, supervise contractors and trades operatives, carry out inspections, ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, and deliver excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Manage responsive repairs, maintenance works, and compliance activities.
Conduct pre- and post-inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
Supervise contractors and trades staff, monitoring performance and productivity.
Prepare specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
Ensure compliance with health and safety, building regulations, and council procedures.
Monitor budgets, performance indicators, and service delivery targets.
Build strong relationships with tenants, contractors, and stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
Experience within property maintenance, housing repairs, or construction.
Knowledge of health and safety legislation and property maintenance practices.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
Full UK driving licence.
Experience managing repairs, voids, planned maintenance, or capital works.
Team supervision, contractor management, and budget control experience.
Knowledge of asbestos procedures, CDM regulations, and leaseholder legislation.
Gas-related qualifications or compliance knowledge
