Depot Manager

We are recruiting for a Depot Manager for a large national client who manufacture and supply large equipment used within industrial and construction industries.

Location – Portlaoise, County Laoise
Salary – £60k basic (€70K) + 10% bonus

Role
* Overseeing the daily operations of the site and grounds, managing logistics, supervising staff, and ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.
* Building relationships with internally with the customer service team, and externally with customers, suppliers and hauliers.
* Conducting regular inspections to maintain safety and compliance with regulations.
* Ensuring that the depot is kept clean and organised.
* Developing and implementing processes and procedures for continual improvement.
* Providing training and development for yard staff and maintaining records.
* Ensuring that all team members adhere to health & safety protocols and use PPE as required.
* Driving company vehicles safely and performing vehicle and equipment inspections.
* Hands on role - attaching trucks to trailers, move heavy equipment, and coordinating transportation for material delivery.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a depot management role.
* Strong knowledge of logistics, materials management, and safety protocols.
* Experience in freight management and transportation coordination.
* Comfortable with heavy lifting and working outdoors.
* Proficient in computer use for inventory management and reporting.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
* Very proactive approach and driving efficiency
