Estimator – Civils & Groundworks

£65,000 + Full Company Pack inc Car or Car Allowance
As part of their continued expansion, our client are looking for an experienced Civils and Groundworks Estimator to join their team.
Duties:
- Analyse project specifications and plans to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors to gather necessary data for estimating purposes.
- Develop comprehensive project proposals outlining cost breakdowns, timelines, and potential risks.
- Utilise cost control techniques to ensure projects remain within budget constraints.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and labour rates to provide competitive and accurate estimates.
- Participate in bid reviews and negotiations with clients to secure profitable contracts.
- Mentor junior estimators and provide guidance on best practices in estimating processes.
Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferable but not a deal breaker.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on civil engineering projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, with MS Excel being our primary estimating software.
-Contractual awareness: JCT, NEC, ICE forms of concrete and Subcontract.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
