An established and growing Waste Recovery & Recycling business based in North London is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor / In-House Trainer to support and drive health, safety, compliance, and workforce development across its operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and evolving business operating within the waste management and recovery sector, where health, safety, and staff development are central to continued growth and operational success.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance standards, improving safety culture, and delivering engaging in-house training programmes across the workforce.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

* Advising management and operational teams on all health & safety matters

* Ensuring compliance with current HSE legislation and industry best practice

* Carrying out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments

* Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses

* Producing RAMS, safety procedures, and compliance documentation

* Monitoring and improving company-wide health & safety performance

* Delivering in-house training, toolbox talks, and inductions

* Supporting the development of staff competencies and training records

* Assisting with ISO standards and compliance processes where required

* Promoting a positive health & safety culture throughout the business

Requirements

* Previous experience within waste management, recycling, construction, industrial, or heavy operational environments

* NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification

* Experience delivering training and toolbox talks in-house

* Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation

* Excellent communication and organisational skills

* Confident working independently and influencing teams at all levels

* Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail

* Full UK driving licence preferred
