Multi Trade Operative

Overview

A Multi‑Trade Operative is responsible for delivering high‑quality repairs, maintenance, and small works across a range of building trades. The role combines practical skill, problem‑solving, and customer service to ensure properties remain safe, functional, and well‑maintained.

Key Responsibilities

General maintenance - Carry out day‑to‑day repairs, planned maintenance, and minor refurbishment works across domestic or commercial properties.

Multi‑trade repairs - Undertake tasks across several trades such as carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting, and basic electrical work

Fault diagnosis - Identify issues, determine the best repair method, and complete work efficiently.

Health & safety compliance - Follow all relevant safety procedures, risk assessments, and safe‑working practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

Trade competency in at least two core areas (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating).

Problem‑solving ability with a practical, hands‑on approach.

Knowledge of building regulations and safe working practices.

Use of tools and equipment relevant to multi‑trade tasks.
