Interim Head of Quality and Assurance (Adults Commissioning)
Duration: Approximately 6 months
Start Date: Immediate
Working Pattern: 1–2 days per week on site Walsall.
Rate and IR35 Negotiable
The Opportunity
This is a critical interim leadership opportunity to lead the redesign and delivery of Adult Social Care Quality Assurance function during a significant period of transition. The Client is moving from an outsourced quality assurance model back to an in-house service and requires an experienced leader to establish a robust, visible and effective approach to quality oversight across the adult social care provider market.
The successful candidate will take ownership of:
Reviewing and strengthening governance and oversight arrangements for quality assurance
Leading the transition of the outsourced quality service back in-house, including workforce management implications and embedding a new operating structure
Establishing a proactive and visible quality presence within the provider market, ensuring officers are equipped to undertake quality visits and respond effectively to emerging concerns
Designing and embedding a refreshed quality assurance framework, including provider self-assessment processes and supporting technology solutions
Providing clear oversight of risk across the care market, including escalation into safeguarding processes where appropriate
Leading recruitment activity and capability development within the newly structured quality function
Candidates will bring:
Significant experience within adult social care quality assurance and provider oversight
A strong track record of designing and implementing quality assurance frameworks
Demonstrable transformation experience, including service redesign and workforce transition
The credibility and leadership capability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cultural change
The ability to operate at pace across both strategic and operational priorities
