Full-Time
I am currently looking to recruit a Health & Safety Consultant to support a major data centre programme for our Data Centre Client. This role is ideally suited to someone who is passionate about health and safety but can also operate pragmatically within a live, fast-paced, commercial construction environment.

The position will involve working closely with the clients Senior H&S / CDM Consultant, who retains overall responsibility for the project, ensuring alignment in approach, reporting, and standards across all sites.

The Role

Based on our client’s sites, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of health and safety across multiple data centres in construction and fit-out stages within the campus, including associated infrastructure works.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Undertaking regular Health & Safety audits (Minimum 2 per week per Data Centre) across four live data centre sites and site-wide infrastructure within the campus

* Carrying out daily site walks and safety observations, identifying unsafe acts, conditions, and opportunities for improvement

* Monitoring contractor compliance with:

* RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)

* Construction Phase Plans

* Permit-to-work systems (including high-risk DC activities such as electrical and mechanical works)

* Providing practical, proportionate advice to contractors and site teams to maintain safe working practices without hindering programme delivery

* Liaising closely with the Senior Consultant managing CDM and H&S, ensuring a consistent approach across all sites

* Supporting the coordination and implementation of CDM duties where required

* Producing regular audit reports and written updates for both the client and Spectra

* Providing day-to-day verbal updates on site performance, risks, and emerging issues

* Identifying trends and recurring issues, feeding into wider project-level reporting and continuous improvement

* Supporting a strong safety culture, engaging positively with site teams and stakeholders

Essential Criteria

* NEBOSH Certificate

* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role

* Experience within construction, M&E, or data centre environments

* Strong understanding of health & safety and risk management principles

* Excellent organisational and time management skills

* Strong communication and relationship management skills

* Ability to work independently on site while feeding into a wider team

Desirable Criteria

* NEBOSH Diploma (or working towards)

* Experience working under CDM Regulations

* Previous experience on data centre or critical infrastructure projects

The Benefits

* Salary Circa £50,000- £55,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

* Medical Cash Plan

* Long-term, stable project (3+ years)

* Opportunity to work on a major UK data centre programme

* Ongoing support and development within a professional consultancy environment
