Credit Controller
Location: Birmingham
Salary:
Part-time: £18,000
Full-time: £26,500
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and organised Credit Controller to join our finance team in Birmingham. This role will focus on managing and reducing 0-90 day aged debt, ensuring timely collections while maintaining strong customer relationships.
This position is available on both a part-time and full-time basis, offering flexibility for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, with a focus on 0-90 day aged debt
Proactively contact customers via phone and email to ensure prompt payment of outstanding invoices
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to support effective collections
Monitor customer accounts to ensure payment terms are adhered to
Investigate and resolve invoice queries to prevent payment delays
Allocate incoming payments and maintain accurate account records
Produce and review aged debt reports, highlighting risks and overdue balances
Work closely with internal teams (e.g. sales and operations) to resolve issues impacting payment
Support month-end processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable
Strong focus on early-stage collections (0-90 day debt)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Excel
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
A proactive and professional approach to problem-solving
