Sales & Contracts Trainee
Location: Poynton
Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:45am-5:00pm, Friday 8:45am-4:30pm
Salary: National minumum wage
Role Overview
An exciting opportunity to develop a career within the steel stockholding industry. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training across sales, customer service, account management, and commercial operations, gaining valuable technical and commercial knowledge to support future career progression.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing customers.
Identify and develop new business opportunities through proactive sales activity and cold calling.
Process customer enquiries, quotations, and sales orders accurately and efficiently.
Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and specifications to meet customer requirements.
Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth order progression.
Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate sales records using company systems.
Follow up on quotations, enquiries, and outstanding orders to maximise sales opportunities.
Promote current and new product lines to prospective and existing customers.
Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues professionally.
Work towards achieving and exceeding KPI’s and sales targets once fully trained.
Additional Responsibilities
Follow company Health & Safety and Quality Assurance procedures.
Attend training sessions to support ongoing development.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Carry out additional duties as required by management.
