A leading engineering contractor is seeking a Principal Engineer to join its water and wastewater team. This senior role will provide high-quality engineering design services across turnkey and engineering services contracts, ensuring designs are cost-effective, safe, and constructible.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce design layouts that are economically viable and meet contract specifications.
Coordinate designs across disciplines to ensure smooth project delivery.
Prepare design documents, drawings, and technical reports.
Support proposals and provide design feedback to commercial teams.
Develop, monitor, and improve departmental procedures and processes.
Mentor and supervise staff, fostering professional development.
Ensure designs comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Maintain project files, records, and customer satisfaction standards.
Candidate Requirements:
Strong knowledge of water and sewage treatment principles.
Experience managing staff in the design of water/wastewater plants.
Chartered Engineer or full membership of a relevant professional institution.
Relevant discipline Engineering degree or HND with extensive experience.
Ability to produce rational, economic plant layouts and assimilate complex data.
Broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, and process engineering in water/wastewater projects.
Good computer literacy and a valid driving license.
Desirable:
Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
This permanent position is based in East Sussex with a hybrid working arrangement, requiring regular attendance at project sites.
