A global engineering business operating in the live events and experiences sector is looking for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer at its Haverhill site. The company designs and manufactures complex mechanical systems and structures for large-scale live events, touring productions, and permanent installations worldwide. What you'll be doing:

Supporting mechanical design work from concept through to detailed design

Producing and updating engineering drawings and basic bills of materials

Working on assigned assemblies and sub-systems under guidance from senior engineers

Carrying out engineering calculations using hand calculations, Excel, and specialist tools

Supporting design reviews and implementing feedback

Updating drawings from red-lines and responding to manufacturing queries

Supporting inspections and Factory Acceptance Testing where required

Learning and following company safety, quality, and design processes

What you need:

Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

Graduate level or up to two years of relevant industry experience

Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering drawings

Interest in mechanical systems, mechanisms, and engineered structures

Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team

What's on offer:

£29,000–£43,000 depending on experience

Permanent days-based role

Structured development and mentoring from experienced engineers

Hands-on involvement in real engineering projects from day one

Clear long-term progression opportunities

Modern engineering and manufacturing environment

This is a permanent position with a business that works on some of the most technically interesting projects in the live events industry. If you want to develop your engineering career doing real design work rather than sitting on the periphery, this is worth a look.
