We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Key Stage 3 Special Educational Needs Teacher to join a specialist provision in Ealing. This role involves supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) by delivering engaging, differentiated lessons within a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
Key Stage 3 Special Educational Needs Teacher- Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for Key Stage 3 students with SEND.
Support students with needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning difficulties.
Develop and implement individual learning plans and support EHCP targets.
Adapt teaching methods, resources, and classroom activities to meet varying learning needs and abilities.
Create a positive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes engagement and independence.
Monitor, assess, and record student progress and provide feedback to parents/carers and senior staff.
Implement effective behaviour management strategies and support students' emotional regulation.
Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals.
Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, equality, and inclusion at all times.
Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and extracurricular activities where required.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience working with KS3 students within SEN, alternative provision, or inclusive educational settings.
Strong understanding of SEND strategies and differentiated teaching approaches.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
Ability to build positive and supportive relationships with students and staff.
Strong communication, organisational, and assessment skills.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Key Stage 3 Special Educational Needs Teacher- Desirable Skills and Experience
SEN specialism or additional SEND qualifications/training.
Experience supporting students with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
Team Teach, PECS, Makaton, or trauma-informed practice training.
Experience working within specialist provisions or alternative education settings.
