Fabricator / Welder - Cookstown
Pay: £18.00-£19.00 per hour depending on experience
Temporary, temp-to-perm or permanent opportunities available

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join a busy and well-established manufacturing business based in Cookstown.

This is a fabrication-led role, so I'm particularly keen to speak with candidates who are confident working from engineering drawings, preparing materials, fabricating components and producing work to a high standard. Welding experience is also required, but the role would suit someone who sees themselves more as a Fabricator who can weld, rather than just a production welder.

Shift patterns may include:

Night shift - 4-day working week:
Monday to Wednesday: 15:45 - 02:15
Thursday: 15:45 - 01:15

Day shift:
Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
Friday: earlier finish, typically around 13:00 or 15:30 depending on site arrangement

Overtime is frequently available depending on production schedules and customer demand.

The role will involve:

Fabricating components from engineering drawings

Reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and welding symbols

Measuring, preparing and checking materials before fabrication

Tack welding and welding materials together to a high standard

Working with metal components within a production/manufacturing environment

Ensuring work is accurate, clean and completed to quality standards

Working to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail

Following health and safety procedures at all times

Working as part of a team while also using your own initiative

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous fabrication experience

Welding experience, ideally within a manufacturing or heavy equipment environment

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Understanding of welding symbols

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good practical problem-solving skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines

Good communication skills

Strong health and safety awareness

A positive, can-do attitude

Experience within heavy equipment, plant machinery, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, structural fabrication or similar manufacturing environments would be a strong advantage.

An understanding of lean manufacturing principles would also be beneficial.

What's on offer:

£18.00-£19.00 per hour depending on experience

Temporary, temp-to-perm or permanent options available

4-day working week on nights

Day shift options may also be available

Overtime frequently available

Long-term career opportunities

Training and development

Excellent company benefits

Free on-site parking
