About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Surveyor to join a growing multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Durham. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic and collaborative team delivering a wide range of surveying and property consultancy services across both public and private sector projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Undertaking a wide range of building surveys and inspections

* Preparing detailed reports, specifications, and schedules of work

* Assisting with project management and contract administration duties

* Carrying out defect diagnosis and providing technical advice

* Supporting refurbishment, maintenance, and improvement projects

* Preparing planning and building regulation applications where required

* Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders

* Assisting in the delivery of projects on time and within budget

* Ensuring compliance with current building regulations and health & safety standards

* Supporting junior team members where appropriate

Requirements

* Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline

* Experience within a consultancy environment preferred

* Strong technical knowledge of building construction and property matters

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Good organisational and project management abilities

* Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard industry software

* Full UK driving licence preferred

Desirable

* MRICS qualified or working towards chartership

* Experience across commercial, education, residential, or public sector projects

* Knowledge of contract administration and project delivery
