About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering and maintenance team based in Larkahall. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure minimal downtime and safe, efficient operation across the site.
This role is ideal for an engineer with strong fault-finding abilities, a proactive approach to maintenance, and experience working within manufacturing, industrial, or facilities environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and machinery
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production and plant equipment
* Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise operational downtime
* Install, test, and commission electrical components and systems
* Read and interpret electrical drawings and technical schematics
* Ensure all maintenance work complies with health & safety regulations and company procedures
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
* Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and operations teams
Requirements
* Recognised electrical engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
* Proven experience in an electrical maintenance role
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Knowledge of PLCs, control systems, motors, and industrial electrical equipment
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good understanding of health & safety practices
* Flexibility to work shifts or on-call rotations where required
Desirable Skills
* Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, or facilities maintenance environments
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
* Experience with automation systems and inverter drives
* Mechanical maintenance knowledge would be advantageous
