Salary: £15.37 – £16.78 per hour (£27,463 – £29,982 annually depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, Term Time Only
Hours: 40 hours per week
Reporting to: School or Hub Lead

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Lead to join our team and support the wellbeing, development and success of young people. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference and supporting students who may face additional barriers to learning, including SEND, ASC and mental health needs.

About the Role

As Pastoral Lead, you will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where students feel valued and able to thrive. Working closely with staff, families and external agencies, you will help remove barriers to learning and support students both emotionally and socially.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing day-to-day pastoral and wellbeing support
Delivering 1:1 interventions, mentoring and tutorial support
Supporting behaviour, attendance and safeguarding processes
Using de-escalation and restorative approaches to manage challenging situations
Supporting student voice activities and wellbeing initiatives
Building strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals
Attending safeguarding and multi-agency meetings
Recording and monitoring pastoral information to support student progress
Supporting the wider school team where required

About You

The successful candidate will have:

A Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant area
English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent
Experience working in a pastoral, wellbeing or student support role
Experience supporting young people with SEND and/or mental health needs
A good understanding of safeguarding within education
Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills
The ability to remain calm, reflective and solution-focused under pressure
Experience in a school, alternative provision or college setting would be beneficial but is not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
