About the role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work within a secondary school classroom. We are actively assisting a school in the St Helens area who are looking for a reliable full-time Teaching Assistant who can provide additional support to pupils who require support to engage in their learning or a general boost of confidence.
As a TA, your role will include small group work and assisting in the wider classroom setting to aid effective pupil progress . You may also provide support for pupils with additional needs under the direction of the class teacher.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high quality education and creating an inclusive and positive learning environment for all. The role is also open to those with a L2 or L3 qualification or previous experience within a similar role.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide support by working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis
* Promote positive behaviour
* Work closely with class teachers and other education professionals
* Assist with general school duties as required
* Adhere to school policies and procedures, including safeguarding
Essential requirements:
* At least 5 GCSE (grade C/4 or above), including Maths and English
* Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification or equivalent
* Confident supporting young people with challenging behaviour and/or reluctant learners
* Ability to engage pupils in their learning
* Flexible and adaptable
* Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
* Enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one
