Salary: Up to £45,000
Are you an experienced SHEQ professional looking for a structured, hands-on role within a hazardous chemicals industry environment?
This role is ideal for someone with a solid grounding in health and safety who wants to step into a high-hazard environment and gain valuable experience across safety, environmental and quality systems.
This is an opportunity based on site in Rye, supporting operational teams across health, safety, environmental and quality (SHEQ) activities. You will play a key role in maintaining safe operations, robust management systems, and strong regulatory compliance.
The Role
You will support the site leadership team with day-to-day Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) activities, helping ensure safe and compliant operations.
* Supporting risk assessments, hazard identification and safe systems of work
* Assisting with contractor safety and site inductions
* Supporting incident and near-miss investigations
* Helping monitor H&S and environmental performance
* Supporting audits, inspections and ISO-based management systems
About You
* Background in health & safety or SHEQ within an industrial or manufacturing environment
* Good understanding of core H&S principles (risk assessment, incident investigation, compliance)
* NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent experience
* Proactive and keen to learn
* High-hazard or COMAH experience is not essential — this role offers hands-on exposure and development
