The Company
A well-established and highly regarded engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit a Technical Buyer to join their team. The business operates within a precision engineering environment, supplying to demanding industries and offering a stable, long-term opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day procurement activities across a wide supplier base
Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
Source new suppliers and obtain quotations in line with business requirements
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers
Monitor supplier performance and address any delivery or quality issues
Work closely with engineering, production, and planning teams to support operational requirements
Maintain accurate records within ERP systems
Assist with stock control and inventory management where required
Ensure compliance with company procedures and procurement processes
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function
The Candidate
Previous experience within a purchasing / procurement role in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with suppliers
Good understanding of supply chain processes and procurement best practices
Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
Comfortable working with ERP systems and Excel
Proactive, organised, and a strong team player
Attention to detail with a commercial mindset
Salary
£30,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
