The Opportunity
If you’re a planner who thrives on complexity, collaboration, and seeing projects come to life, this is your chance to be at the heart of a transformational hydro-electric power scheme. Driven by significant investment and long-term demand for renewable energy infrastructure, this project is scaling rapidly bringing together multiple disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders across a technically challenging environment in the Scottish Highlands. As a result, the project team is expanding and seeking a Planner to play a key role in ensuring delivery certainty through robust, intelligent programme management. You’ll be working alongside experienced project leaders, influencing decision-making through clear, data-driven planning insight, and helping to ensure that one of the UK’s most important renewable energy projects is delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Develop, maintain, and enhance detailed project programmes to support successful delivery
Monitor and update progress against programme, identifying risks, delays, and mitigation strategies
Introducing and manage programme changes, ensuring accuracy and traceability
Resource and cost-load programmes to support project controls and forecasting
Analyse programme performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Provide accurate and timely reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Support short-term and long-term planning requirements across the project lifecycle
Evaluate subcontractor and supply chain programmes for alignment and robustness
Apply planning best practice and ensure programme integrity through appropriate checks
Collaborate with project teams, designers, and stakeholders to ensure aligned delivery
Communicate planning information clearly across multiple formats and audiences
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Strong experience working as a Planner within construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects
Proven ability to develop, update, and manage project programmes
Experience using planning software such as Primavera P6
Solid understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
Experience analysing programme performance and identifying risks and opportunities
Knowledge of commercial and contractual implications within project planning
Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple prioritiesIt’s great if you also have the following
Experience within renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects
Experience working in complex, multi-contractor or joint venture environments
Ability to coach or mentor junior planners or project team members
Familiarity with risk analysis and programme assurance techniques
Exposure to cost-loading and integrated project controls environments
Experience working in remote or challenging project environments
The setting for the role
You’ll be based within a major hydro-electric construction project in the Scottish Highlands, working closely with delivery teams, engineers, and supply chain partners. This is a dynamic site-based role requiring strong collaboration and visibility, where your input will directly shape how the project is delivered on the ground.
