An excellent opportunity has become available for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering complex and high-profile infrastructure projects across the UK.

This role is perfect for an experienced engineer who enjoys leading technical delivery, driving innovation, and supporting multidisciplinary project teams from concept through to completion.

The Role

As Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will take a leading role in the design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical engineering solutions across a variety of major projects. Responsibilities will include:

Leading mechanical design and engineering activities across multiple projects
Providing technical guidance and oversight to project teams
Reviewing and approving calculations, specifications, and technical documentation
Supporting project delivery to ensure quality, programme, and budget targets are achieved
Coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
Mentoring and developing junior engineers within the business
Supporting business development and contributing to technical excellence initiatives

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience operating at Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer level
Strong background within infrastructure, water, utilities, construction, or related sectors
Experience managing mechanical design and project delivery
Excellent technical, communication, and leadership skills
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership preferred
Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations
