Police Scotland is seeking an experienced Equality Diversity Inclusion and Human Rights professional to join us in this rare and exciting opportunity. You will play a pivotal strategic role in shaping and influencing the future direction of Equality Diversity Inclusion and Human Rights (EDIHR) across the second largest police force in the UK. This role presents the opportunity to make a significant and lasting contribution to both our workforce and the communities across Scotland.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate significant experience operating at a strategic level in the areas outlined in the attached role profile.

Key Responsibilities -

* National strategic responsibility for shaping, delivering and assuring Police Scotland and the Scottish Police Authority’s (SPA) Employment EDIHR governance framework.

* Ensure Police Scotland and the SPA demonstrate legal compliance in relation to EDIHR monitoring and reporting, deliver meaningful equality outcomes, address under-representation and embed fair, inclusive and non-discriminatory practices across the employment lifecycle.

* Working directly with the Police Scotland Executive, SPA Executive and Board, Police Scotland’s Head of Policing Together, Director of Human Resources, Head of Organisational Development and senior leaders across the organisation, you will provide expert direction, insight and influence to drive culture change, modernise approaches to EDIHR governance, analysis and monitoring and build organisational capability.

* Lead the EDIHR team, ensuring strategic alignment, robust governance, high-quality insight and advice, and the delivery of proportionate, holistic and value-adding EDIHR services to employment activities that support an ethical, sustainable and high-performing policing organisation.
