The Opportunity We are currently supporting a leading aerospace manufacturing organisation in Tewkesbury in the search for an experienced Skilled Sliding Head CNC Machinist to join their high-performing precision engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
* Set and operate Star Sliding Head CNC lathes
* Manufacture precision aerospace components to tight tolerances and exacting quality standards
* Conduct in-process inspection and self-certification using manual and automated metrology equipment
* Interpret engineering drawings, inspection plans, and technical documentation
* Support continuous improvement and problem-solving activities across manufacturing operations
* Apply lean manufacturing principles including 5S and standardised working practices
* Carry out basic preventative maintenance and machine care activities
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* Proven experience setting and operating sliding head lathes (Star machinery preferred)
* A completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
* Experience working within a precision engineering or aerospace manufacturing environment
* Strong understanding of machining to tight tolerances
* Competence using a range of inspection and measurement equipment
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings in both metric and imperial
* Good understanding of GD&T principles
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work proactively and independently
* A positive team-focused attitude and commitment to quality
Shift Pattern (2-Week Rotating Shift)
AM Shift
* Monday – Thursday: 06:00 – 14:15
* Friday: 06:15 – 11:45
PM Shift
* Monday – Tuesday: 14:00 – 21:15
* Wednesday – Thursday: 14:00 – 21:30
* Friday: 11:30 – 19:30
