About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for Production Operatives to join our team in the Polishing Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting, buffing, polishing and blasting various metalwork components to high-quality standards using hand tools and polishing machinery. The role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity and a commitment to achieving production and quality standards.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, working a 2-on, 2-off shift pattern, from 5:00 am to 4:50 pm.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

* Polish and finish metalwork to the required specifications and surface finish standards.

* Safely and efficiently operate polishing, grinding, and buffing equipment.

* Remove scratches, weld marks, and other surface imperfections from metal components.

* Inspect finished products to ensure high-quality standards are consistently achieved.

* Handle materials safely and adhere to manual handling procedures at all times.

* Follow all health and safety procedures and wear the appropriate PPE.

* Maintain machine utilisation and consistently meet efficiency and productivity targets.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

* Polish and finish metalwork to the required specifications and surface finish standards.

* Safely and efficiently operate polishing, grinding, and buffing equipment.

* Remove scratches, weld marks, and other surface imperfections from metal components.

* Inspect finished products to ensure high-quality standards are consistently achieved.

* Handle materials safely and adhere to manual handling procedures at all times.

* Follow all health and safety procedures and wear the appropriate PPE.

* Maintain machine utilisation and consistently meet efficiency and productivity targets.

* Background in manufacturing or engineering environments.

* Experience in sheet metal or stainless-steel finishing.

* Knowledge of different polishing grades and surface finishes would be preferred.

* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

* Quality-focused approach with pride in delivering work to a high standard.

* Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively.

* Organised and methodical approach to work
