📍 Location: Kitt's Green, B33
🕒 Hours: Full-time/Part-time

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We are looking for a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 11 to 16 with a range of complex needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and related behavioural needs. Some of the students may have some personal care needs as well, staff must be willing to assist students with personal care.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive team in a specialist setting in Kitt's Green, where every day is different, and every small success counts.
About the Role:
* Provide individualised support to pupils with SEMH and ASD, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Assist in implementing behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies.
* Support the development of social skills, confidence, and independence in young learners.
* Supporting some students with personal care needs such as toileting and/or feeding.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, autism, or behavioural needs.
* A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting challenging behaviours.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A proactive, flexible mindset and a genuine desire to support vulnerable young people.

Desirable:
* Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or mental health (e.g. CACHE, Level 2/3 TA, Team Teach, etc.).
* Experience working in an SEN or alternative provision environment.
* Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and emotional regulation strategies.
