The Company

We are recruiting for a Skilled Machinist to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business operating within a modern, high-precision production environment.

This is a structured site with a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and team collaboration, producing critical components within a fast-paced setting.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Team Leader, you will be responsible for setting and operating machining equipment within a designated production cell.

Working as part of a team, you will ensure machines are set correctly, running efficiently, and meeting production and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities

Set and operate machining equipment for both yourself and other operators within the cell
Carry out machining operations to meet production output and delivery targets
Identify and report tooling or equipment issues promptly
Maintain optimal machine performance and efficiency during production
Ensure consistent adherence to quality standards and procedures
Support 5S and TPM standards to maintain a clean and organised working environment
Assist in reducing scrap and rework through collaboration with quality teams
Work closely with manufacturing and maintenance teams to improve processes
Support and mentor apprentices and less experienced team members
Maintain a professional and proactive approach to work at all times
Follow all health & safety procedures and respond to any risks or hazards

About You

Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification preferred
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a machining or manufacturing environment
Experience with CNC machining or similar production machinery
Strong setting and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills with the ability to work across departments
Ability to support training and development of others
Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
