The Role
As a Dimensional Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring precision measuring equipment is accurate, reliable, and compliant with industry standards.
You will test, calibrate, adjust, repair, and certify a range of measuring instruments used across manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, medical, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Calibrating dimensional measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators, and height gauges
* Testing instruments against certified reference standards
* Identifying and rectifying measurement errors
* Carrying out minor repairs and adjustments where required
* Producing calibration certificates and technical reports
* Maintaining accurate records in line with ISO9001 and UKAS requirements
* Supporting customers with technical queries when required
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience within calibration, metrology, quality inspection, or precision engineering
* Strong understanding of dimensional calibration principles and measurement techniques
* Knowledge of measurement uncertainty, traceability, and calibration standards
* A relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND, NVQ, BTEC Level 3+, or equivalent)
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Good IT and record-keeping skills
* A proactive and customer-focused approach
