We are seeking dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to support specialist and mainstream schools across Southampton. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of pupils requiring emotional and behavioural support.
You’ll help create a safe and supportive learning environment where students can thrive both academically and personally.
About the Setting:
• Inclusive and supportive school environments
• Strong focus on wellbeing and emotional development

• Experienced SEND and pastoral teams
• Training and development opportunities available
• Positive and nurturing staff culture
• Long-term opportunities with potential permanent roles
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Supporting pupils with SEMH and additional needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
• Building strong and trusting relationships
• Assisting with classroom learning and routines
• Supporting emotional regulation strategies
• Working closely with teaching and SEND staff
• Promoting confidence, resilience and independence
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience working with children or young people desirable
• Calm, patient and resilient approach
• Passion for inclusion and SEND support
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Positive and proactive attitude
• Ability to build strong relationships
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
