Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Leicestershire

Company: Leading Regional Housebuilder

Salary & Package: £60,000 - £75,000 + package (will pay more for exceptional candidates)

Senior Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

My client is a growing and well-established regional housebuilder delivering high-quality residential developments across the Midlands. With a strong pipeline of new projects and continued business growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple developments across the East Midlands. This role would suit an established Senior Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career.

As a Senior QS, you will take responsibility for:

Managing the commercial performance of multiple residential developments from inception through to final account.
Preparing and maintaining budgets, cost plans, forecasts and monthly cost/value reconciliations.
Leading subcontractor procurement, including tender analysis, negotiations and package awards.
Managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, payments and final accounts.
Monitoring project expenditure, identifying commercial risks and implementing effective cost-control measures.
Working closely with Construction, Technical and Land teams to maximise project profitability and support key business decisions.
Supporting and mentoring junior members of the Commercial Team while promoting best commercial practices across the business.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
Proven experience working within a housebuilding or residential development environment
Strong understanding of cost planning, procurement, subcontract management and financial reporting
Demonstrable experience managing multiple developments simultaneously
Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and relationship-management skills
Strong IT skills, including Excel and commercial management systems such as COINS or equivalent
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
Full UK driving licence
