Immediate Start
£35k - £50k Annual
Full-Time
You will build your career in fibre lasers within a globally recognised leader that has been designing and manufacturing fibre laser technology for over 90 years. You will join a specialist Laser Development Group where your work will directly influence the future of advanced laser products. This role offers genuine long-term progression, with the potential to develop into technical leadership or take alternative pathways across NPI and manufacturing as your career evolves.

Working within a state-of-the-art laboratory environment, you will spend around 70% of your time hands-on in the lab, developing, testing and refining laser systems. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing and NPI teams, contributing to the development of new laser products and product improvements that shape the company’s future technology roadmap. For those who show initiative, there is also the opportunity to lead small development projects and take ownership of technical advancements.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating, experimenting and solving complex technical challenges. You will be supported by an experienced manager who is committed to coaching and developing engineers, particularly graduates with strong academic foundations.

The team is open to candidates at different levels, including those without industrial experience, provided you have the right technical grounding and the ambition to grow. Over time, this position can progress into a Technical Lead role for those who demonstrate capability and vision.

You will need to be independent, hands-on and curious, with strong learning agility and the desire to build a long-term future in laser technology.

• Degree or MSc in Laser Physics or a relevant discipline
• A proactive, hands-on mindset with the ambition to grow technically

If you are motivated to develop cutting-edge fibre laser technology and want a role where you can shape products, grow your expertise and define your technical future, this opportunity offers an exceptional platform to do so
