Job Profile for Quantity Surveyor

Bennett & Game Recruitment are proud to be representing a long-established, multi-disciplinary engineering contractor operating across the UK. The company deliver a diverse range of civil engineering and industrial projects, offering expertise in scaffolding and access, structural repairs, protective coatings, and infrastructure works.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in East Kilbride. This position would suit an ambitious individual with a background in civil engineering, scaffolding/access, or industrial projects, looking to progress within a forward-thinking and well-respected contractor.

Prepare and review tenders, quotations, and contract documentation.
Manage project budgets, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
Monitor costs throughout project lifecycles to maintain profitability.
Conduct risk assessments and manage contract administration under NEC
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure commercial objectives are met.
Support procurement, including materials, plant, and subcontractor packages.
Produce regular commercial reports and forecasts for senior management.
Provide guidance to junior team members (for senior-level appointments).
Identify opportunities for cost improvement and commercial efficiencies.Requirements

Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Civil Engineering.
Proven experience in civil engineering, scaffolding/access, or industrial project environments.
Strong working knowledge of NEC and JCT contract forms.
Excellent numeracy, reporting, and commercial analysis skills.
Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant commercial software.
