Job Description

Clarence Recruitment are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Teacher of Drama to join a secondary school in Tamworth. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students through performance, creativity, and self-expression within a supportive and vibrant school environment.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging Drama lessons across the secondary age range, encouraging students to develop confidence, communication skills, and a love for the performing arts. You will join a welcoming department that values innovation and recognises the important role creative subjects play in student development.
This role is suitable for experienced teachers, ECTs/NQTs, and overseas-trained teachers with relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver inspiring Drama lessons across KS3 and KS4
Prepare students for performances, practical assessments, and examinations where applicable
Encourage creativity, collaboration, and confidence through performance-based learning
Assess, monitor and track pupil progress effectively
Create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
Contribute to school productions, extracurricular drama clubs, and wider arts events

Requirements

Applications are welcomed from candidates who have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification
Strong subject knowledge in Drama or Performing Arts
Experience teaching Drama at secondary school level
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
A passion for creative education and student engagement
A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
