We’re recruiting for a Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer to join a specialist machinery manufacturer based in Leeds.

The business designs and builds engineered equipment for a number of niche industrial markets, supplying customers across the UK and overseas.

With in-house design, manufacturing, machining, fitting and assembly capability, this is a varied role where you’ll help turn engineering drawings and customer requirements into well-planned, efficient production work.

What you’ll be doing:

* Creating, updating and managing production routings / routes of manufacture

* Planning manufacturing projects through the MRP system

* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation

* Reviewing drawings to determine the most efficient manufacturing methods

* Supporting the machine shop and workshop with metal cutting methods, tooling choice and work holding

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer who understands workshop production, engineering drawings, routings, manufacturing methods and MRP-based planning.

You may have experience in machining, fabrication, assembly, planning, production engineering, manufacturing engineering, methods engineering or technical planning. The key requirement is the ability to look at engineering drawings and determine how work should be planned, routed and delivered efficiently through production.

This role may also suit someone currently working as a Methods Engineer, Technical Planner, Production Planner, Manufacturing Planner, Routing Engineer or Process Engineer.

Why this role may appeal:

This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys the practical link between engineering drawings, manufacturing methods, workshop planning and production delivery.

You’ll be working closely with design, machining, fitting, assembly and supply chain teams, helping ensure jobs are properly planned before they reach the shop floor.

For someone who likes being involved in the detail of how engineered equipment is actually manufactured, this Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer role offers a varied and hands-on workload within a specialist machinery manufacturing environment.
