Grade A Recruitment are working with a specialist SEND school in Huntingdon who are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term supply basis.

This full-time role is available for an immediate start until Christmas 2026, although part-time applications of 3 or more days per week will also be considered. There is also the opportunity for the position to become permanent for the right candidate.

The school describes itself as "a community special school for pupils aged 3–19 with special needs" and prides itself on creating a happy, healthy and safe learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop their curiosity for learning. Staff are committed to supporting every child to achieve their full potential through high levels of care, encouragement and personalised support.

This would be an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs within a caring and supportive school environment.

Responsibilities:

* Support pupils with a range of special educational needs both in and out of the classroom

* Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities

* Promote pupil independence, confidence and wellbeing

* Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families

* Support the implementation of individual learning and behaviour plans

* Help create a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment

Requirements:

* Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEND setting

* A patient, caring and supportive approach

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

* Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
