We are working with an established civil engineering sub-contractor who is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee substation projects across Scotland’s Central Belt.
The initial project will be based in Glasgow for approximately 12 months, with further secured works planned across the Central Belt thereafter.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor delivering infrastructure projects for SPEN.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing civil engineering works on substation projects, ensuring delivery is completed safely, on programme, and within budget.
Projects will involve all aspects of civil engineering associated with substation developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the full lifecycle of civil engineering projects
- Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification
- Managing programme delivery, budgets, and resource allocation
- Maintaining strong communication with clients and stakeholders
- Monitoring quality assurance and health & safety compliance
- Resolving technical and operational issues throughout project delivery
- Supporting commercial and reporting functions where required
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Project Manager within civil engineering
- Experience delivering infrastructure or utility projects
- Strong understanding of civil engineering works associated with substations
- Previous SPEN project experience would be advantageous, but is not essential
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and workstreams effectively
- Relevant site and management certifications preferred
