Salary – £25,321 - £31,651
Hours – Full-time, shift-based (details to be confirmed)
Location & Postcode – Gloucester EFW, GL10 3ET

As an Operations and Maintenance Assistant at FCC Environment, you will play a key role in supporting the safe and compliant operation of the site. You will assist with the delivery, processing and disposal of municipal waste and Incinerated Bottom Ash (IBA), while supporting both the operations and maintenance teams.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working across operational shifts as required.

What will you be doing?

- Supporting the day-to-day running of the weighbridge and waste crane operations
- Recording data accurately using the Weightron weighbridge system
- Managing vehicle movements on site, including vehicle marshalling and turnaround times
- Operating mobile plant such as front loaders, telehandlers and FLTs following pre-start checks
- Managing and removing IBA and supporting the operation of the IBA processing hall
- Carrying out waste inspections and reporting non-conforming waste
- Maintaining clean and safe working areas, including tipping halls, reception areas and delivery routes
- Carrying out driver inductions and enforcing site rules
- Supporting site security and maintaining a safe working environment
- Reporting accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions
- Assisting with deliveries and collections of chemicals, consumables and stores
- Setting a positive example for health, safety and environmental standards

What are we looking for?

- Experience of operating mobile plant (desirable)
- IT literate
- Knowledge of the waste or power industries would be an advantage
- Strong focus on health, safety and environmental compliance
- The ability to work well as part of a team and independently
- Flexible, adaptable and highly motivated
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
