Electrical Maintenance Technician
Salary: £40,000 + Overtime
Location: Cardiff
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm (Regular overtime available until 6:00pm and weekends)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a well-established industrial manufacturing and recycling operation based in Cardiff.
This role is ideal for a proactive maintenance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about ensuring plant equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across site equipment and machinery.
* Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimise production downtime.
* Work with PLC-controlled systems, AC/DC drives, and process control equipment.
* Interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance reliability and performance.
* Complete maintenance records and ensure compliance with site procedures.
* Work collaboratively with operational and maintenance teams to support production targets.
* Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards.
About You
* Completed Electrical Apprenticeship.
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
* Experience within a manufacturing, heavy industry, recycling, steel, aggregates, or similar industrial environment.
* Knowledge of PLCs, electrical fault finding, motors, drives, and control systems.
* Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
* Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* High Voltage (HV) experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as training can be provided.
