Full Time - Design & Technology (DT) Teacher

Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Job Type: Full-Time

Start Date: ASAP - July 2026 (with a potential for extension)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Chesterfield. This is a full-time position ideal for a teacher who is enthusiastic about inspiring students through practical learning, creativity, and innovation within the DT curriculum.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering students’ confidence, problem-solving skills, and technical ability.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons that engage and challenge students.
Teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
Support students in developing practical skills, creativity, and design thinking.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
Maintain a safe and organised workshop/classroom environment.
Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities within the DT department.
The Ideal Candidate
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Has experience teaching Design & Technology in a secondary school setting.
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge (e.g., product design, resistant materials, engineering, or similar).
Is passionate about practical learning and student achievement.

Has strong classroom management and communication skills.
Works well as part of a collaborative team.
