TeacherActive is currently working closely with a welcoming primary school in South Birmingham (Solihull) who are seeking an Arabic-speaking Teaching Assistant to support pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL).

This is a full-time role, supporting Arabic-speaking pupils in the classroom to help them access learning, understand instructions, and develop their English language skills.

The role:

Supporting pupils with EAL on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Working closely with the class teacher to adapt learning materials
Supporting pupils socially and emotionally within the classroom
Helping pupils engage confidently in lessons and school life

Role details:

Location: South Birmingham (Solihull)
️ Days: Monday – Friday (5 days per week)
⏰ Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
‍ Role: EAL Teaching Assistant
️ Language requirement: Must be able to speak Arabic

The ideal candidate will:

Be fluent in Arabic
Have experience working with children in the UK (school or educational setting preferred)
Have experience supporting pupils with EAL (desirable but not essential)
Be reliable, patient, and confident working in a classroom environment
Be able to commit to full-time hours (Monday to Friday)

Safeguarding & compliance requirements:

To work through TeacherActive, candidates must:

Hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate (or be willing to apply for one)
Be able to provide 2 references (including a recent employer reference)
Have the right to work in the UK
