Warehouse Technician / Engineering Assistant

Driver Hire Southampton is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for a hands-on Warehouse Technician / Engineering Assistant to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical, electrical, or technical background who is looking to build a long-term career within a specialist engineering environment.

The role offers a varied working day involving equipment preparation, warehouse operations, stock control, and supporting senior engineers.

Main Duties

Learning company products and testing specialist heating and cooling equipment within the warehouse
Assisting lead engineers with testing, preparation, loading, and unloading of equipment
Following company procedures and health & safety guidelines
Logging returned items and reporting any faults or damage
Picking and preparing orders accurately
Supporting stock control, checks, and reporting shortages
Keeping the warehouse clean and using equipment such as pressure washers when required

Skills & Experience Required

Mechanical engineering, electrical, or technical background preferred
Comfortable with heavy lifting and working on your feet throughout the day
Basic IT skills including Outlook
Flexible to work overtime when required
Excellent timekeeping and organisational skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a teams
Positive attitude with willingness to learn new skills
High attention to detail and pride in your work

12 week Temp-Perm position
40 hours per week plus overtime
