Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker specializing in adolescent care to join our diverse and inclusive team. The Social Worker will focus on supporting adolescents, especially those encountering unauthorised or challenging circumstances, ensuring their safety, well-being, and access to essential services.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the needs and risks faced by adolescents, including unauthorised or vulnerable situations.
Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with adolescents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Provide counselling, guidance, and crisis intervention to adolescents experiencing emotional, social, or legal challenges.
Advocate for adolescents? rights and access to education, healthcare, and social services.
Facilitate communication between adolescents, families, schools, and community resources to ensure coordinated support.
Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Participate in training and professional development to stay informed about best practices and emerging issues related to adolescent social work.
Promote an inclusive, culturally competent approach that respects and values diversity in all forms.

Qualifications

Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) or a related field.
Valid social work licensure or certification as required by local regulations.
Experience working with adolescents in social work, particularly in unauthorised or high-risk contexts, preferred.
Strong understanding of adolescent development, mental health, and social challenges.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and in multidisciplinary teams.
Commitment to upholding principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural sensitivity.
Resilience and the ability to handle emotionally challenging situations with compassion and professionalism.

Day-to-Day Activities

Meeting with adolescents individually and in groups to assess needs and provide support.
Coordinating with schools, healthcare providers, and legal agencies to ensure comprehensive care.
Addressing immediate crises and facilitating safety planning when necessary.
Documenting case progress and updating care plans regularly.
Participating in team meetings and case reviews to share insights and strategies.
Attending workshops and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Engaging with community organisations to develop resources and referral networks.
