The Role

As a Maths Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with experienced teachers and support students across KS3 and KS4. You'll help bring Maths to life in the classroom while supporting students who may need extra encouragement, challenge, or guidance.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Supporting students during engaging Maths lessons
Working one-to-one and in small groups to boost confidence and attainment
Helping students prepare for GCSE Maths exams and revision sessions
Encouraging positive learning behaviours and classroom participation
Supporting students with additional learning needs where required
Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities
Building positive relationships with students and staff
Gaining invaluable school-based experience ahead of teacher training

You should have:

A degree in Maths, Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related subject
Strong Maths skills and confidence supporting secondary-aged students

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine interest in becoming a teacher in the future
Previous experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, or school experience) is desirable but not essential
