Film Studio Development | Main Contractor | Windsor Area

About the Project

A significant film studio development near Windsor featuring purpose-built sound stages, post-production facilities, and supporting infrastructure. Design & Build contract with the Main Contractor holding full commercial responsibility. 18-month programme from mobilisation to practical completion with phased handover to client.

The Role

You will work alongside the Senior QS as the day-to-day commercial support, responsible for:

Preparing and maintaining cost reports and forecasts

Processing subcontractor invoices and managing payment schedules

Recording and tracking variations and claims

Cost coding and financial data management

Assisting with contract administration and change control documentation

Site-based cost tracking and budget monitoring

Supporting client QS liaison and cost meetings

Preparing cost schedules and financial reports for monthly reviews

Essential Requirements

3–5 years as a Quantity Surveyor with experience on construction projects £10M+

Strong knowledge of cost control, cost coding, and cost reporting processes

Proficiency in cost management software (Causeway, Ares, or similar)

Solid understanding of contract administration and variation procedures

Competence in spreadsheet management and financial data analysis

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cost streams

Site-based experience in a Main Contractor or similar environment

Desirable

* RICS student membership or progression towards APC

* Experience with Design & Build contracts

* Familiarity with specialist procurement and subcontractor management

* Knowledge of construction accounting and final account procedures

* Previous film studio, specialist infrastructure, or heavy civils experience

* Accuracy and reliability in cost tracking and reporting

* Proactive attitude spotting cost issues and escalating appropriately

* Strong organizational skills under pressure

* Good communication with site teams, subcontractors, and office-based colleagues

* Willingness to learn and develop under mentoring from Senior QS

* Practical problem-solving approach to commercial challenges

The Offer

* Salary: £70,000–£75,000 per annum (depending on experience)

* Contract: Permanent for project duration (18 months) with potential extension

* Location: Windsor area, full-time on-site

* Reporting to: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager

* Start date: ASAP
