Are you passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people?

We’re recruiting for Residential Support Workers to join a growing, values-led children’s care provider in Nottingham, supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), trauma-related needs, and mild learning or developmental difficulties within small, therapeutic residential homes.

This provider is led by an incredibly passionate leadership team with a genuine focus on outcomes, relationships, and creating stable, nurturing environments where children can thrive. Their homes are intentionally small, allowing for highly personalised care and stronger staff-to-child relationships.

The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in supporting children with their day-to-day lives, emotional wellbeing, education, routines, and personal development. You’ll help create a safe, consistent, and therapeutic environment where young people feel valued, supported, and empowered.

Responsibilities include:

* Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people

* Supporting emotional wellbeing using trauma-informed approaches

* Assisting with routines, education, appointments, and activities

* Promoting independence and life skills development

* Completing daily records, reports, and safeguarding documentation

* Working closely with families, social workers, and external professionals

* Supporting children through challenging behaviours positively and consistently

* Contributing to a safe, homely, and nurturing environment

About You

* Experience working with children or vulnerable young people

* Passionate, resilient, and emotionally intelligent

* Understanding of safeguarding and child-centred practice

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)

* Full UK Driving Licence preferred

What’s on Offer

* £26,000 – £28,250 salary

* £55 per sleep-in payment

* Structured 3-week rolling rota for improved work-life balance

* Ongoing training and professional development

* Supportive leadership team focused on outcomes over profit

* Opportunity to progress within a growing organisation

* Therapeutic and relationship-led care environment

If you’re looking to join a provider where children genuinely come first and where you can build a rewarding long-term career in residential childcare, we’d love to hear from you.

At RJS, we partner with values-driven children’s care providers across the UK and work on a continuous stream of exciting opportunities within the sector. If this role isn’t quite right but you’re open to discussing other positions, feel free to get in touch to explore our wider portfolio of vacancies
